When warehouse building dimensions get rather large, it is typically to put expansion joints in a metal roof deck. As the roof deck is being utilized as a diaphragm, a vertical brace system would typically be employed at the expansion joint location to maintain a simple diaphragm design approach. It seems if the roof deck is being broken, then (2) braced lines should be employed to truly separate these into (2) buildings to allow proper expansion and movement to occur independently. Wondering what others opinions are when you utilize an expansion joint, but connecting the split roof deck back to a single braced line.
