I'm working on designing Mechanical system for a small retail store in Manhattan, NY. and just wondering IF i'm allowed to vent gas clothes dryer out of the louver over the storefront?
i don't have anywhere to exhaust it except the storefront. it's 16 story building. The mechanical code is not clear about this issue.

MC section 504.4
Exhaust installation.
Dryer exhaust ducts for clothes dryers shall terminate on the outside of the building. Single dryer installations shall be equipped with a backdraft damper. Multiple dryer installations shall not have a backdraft damper. Screens shall not be installed at the duct termination. Ducts shall not be collected or installed with sheet metal screws or other fasteners that will obstruct the exhaust flow. Clothes dryer exhaust ducts shall not be collected to a vent connector, vent or chimney. Clothes dryer exhaust ducts shall not extend into or through ducts or plenums.

Please advice if i can vent gas clothes dryer out of the louver over the storefront??

The code does not appear to prohibit it.

I doubt that the building owner would allow it.

Have you researched the condensing (ventless) things?

Any vent shall vent as to not cause a nuisance to the public.

You may have to install a centrifugal lint collector , or a discharge over a storefront may be a public nuisance.

You are judged not by what you know, but by what you can do.

Look at the option of discharging into a grated well under the sidewalk.
