Hey guys,
I have a long railway bridge to evaluate, and I need to validate my model with gages and accelerometers readings during the train's passage. I've been thinking on simulating this behaviour with NX Nastran's Sol 402, with a rigid train model moving on top of the bridge. I would input gravity, the train's mass as a mass element and the wheels as simple modeled cylinder connected to the mass by an RBE. Then I would force a displacement over time for the locomotive, or input speed as initial condition. Finally, I would set contact between tracks and wheels. Is this kind of motion even possible to input in SOL 402? Would SOL 601 be better for this?
Thank you!
