Does anyone know how to apply a load and have it vary within a design study in Mechanica? PTC doesn't seem to have any information on their Knowledge Base, so I wanted to see if anyone had a good tip or trick.

Thanks,

Steve

The only way that I can see doing this would be to change the load and then rerunning the analysis.

Just an observation…

if the analysis is linear static then you just need to scale the resuls by the load magnitude. if you are running contact, mechanica lets you apply the load in steps. However, this will only work for all loads in the model. I don't believe you can have it only vary one load in the model.

Thanks for the info Parabolictet! One question though, I thought the load step option was to be used with large displacement static analysis. Although, I guess load stepping would work well with a contact analysis given that it is non-linear like a large displacement analysis..right?

Thanks for the help,

Steve
