I have a valve that has been failing continuously due to leakage of the seals, therefore would like to recommend a new valve as a replacement. Piping class: B1
The current installed valve has the following specs: Designed to API 6D / API 608
Body material: ASTM A-216 WCB
Ball Material: 316SS
Stem Material: 316SS
Seat Material: 316SS
I have two options available to choose from:
Option 1:
Body material: ASTM A105N
Ball Material: ASTM A182 F316
Stem Material: ASTM A182 F316
Seat Material: ASTM A182 F316 + Devlon Insert
Option 2:
Body material: A216 Gr. WCB
Ball Material: A276 Type 316 OR A351 CF8M
Stem Material: A276 Type 316
Seat Material: PEEK
Most likely option I would go with would be option 1 since Body material is an equivalent of A216-WCC which is more stringent than A-216 WCB and ASTM A182 F316 is a more stringent / Stronger / Similar material to 316SS however would like to see if I missed anything.
Appreciate any feedback.
