Selection Valve Trim Materials

Hi Sir,

I have a requirement of Gate Valve with 13%Cr Steel Trim material (trim 1). when I am requesting this material all manufactures are offering A105+13% Cr Steel trim. Is this alternate for Trim 1? Can you please help me

Suggest to review the API Code, such as API-600, for the related material of the valve trims for the application.

They are offering you a hardfaced trim. There are many considerations like service, failure rate etc. to answer your question.

If finance is the sole consideration, then this alternative would be cheaper and you may take a chance.
