Hi!
I would like to know if someone can help me. I would like to hardened material AISI 9260 H (DIN : 65 Si 7) in vakuum furnace. I have some knives with thicknes of 15 mm.Required hardness ofter hardening : 59 - 60 HRC.In the furnace I can get pressure : 8,5 bars.

Best regards

Quench the parts from 870C in oil. Temper at 160C for 2h.

adyonel's answer is for an atmosphere protected furnace with direct oil quench.
With your vacuum equipment you should be able to perform a few systematic tests. It is worth trying.

No Goahead, my answer is for vacuum furnace too. 8,5 bars is not a very low pressure.
