using new matlab functions in old versions

Hi i've written a series of scripts for matlab which include the 'smooth' function, problem is that the workstation at the lab where i need to use it, doesn't have an as up to date version of matlab. Is there some way of just copying and pasting the smooth.m file from my office computer to my lab one so i don't have to modify my work?
