I was more concern with acronyms not in Y14.38:
WRT-With Reference TO
IMO-In My Opinion
IMHP- In my humble opinion
FRC-Feature related Control
FCF-Feature Control Frame
DRF- Datum Reference Frame
PLC-Pattern Locating Control

I'm talking about acronyms used in this group that is only understood by this group.

PLC is also Programmable Logic Controller.

Whitmiregt, this might be better as a FAQ.

Have you read faq731-376 to make the best use of Eng-Tips Forums?

If we're going to have a list of acronyms then why not some hints on how best to use the forum e.g.

If it's a question about standards or related issue then give the standards you work to or at least the country and industry so we can make an educated guess.

Most regular posters seem to work to ASME Y14.5M-1994. Answers based on this aren't necessarily helpfull to someone working in civil engineering in Europe!

Since this thread has already gone off topic, how about the following additions.....
