thread330-310392 I am looking for the document stating the recommended maxuium tempature for SA36 seems to be 750 to 850

What are you trying to prevent?

How much sag or movement or deflection (% yield under the stress load you anticipate) can you tolerate?

How long will the loads at high temperatures last?

If you need a maximum service temperature reference, I would suggest ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section II, Part D, Table 1A

900 deg F for SA 36 plate material.
