I have an assembly that when the sub-component “B” is the work part the display is fine. But when any other part is the work part or the assembly itself is the work part the display of sub-component “B” is jagged even after an “update display” while all other components are smooth. Please help me.

maybe use "Regenerate view" instead of "Update display"
format... layout...regenerate

In shaded views, be carefull how much you are zoomed in when regenerating, as it controls how many polygons are created and shaded (how many lines in wireframe display)

It is not a good idea to regenerate a shaded view when zoomed in to a small area. Depending on file size, it can seem like forever to complete. [sleeping2]
That is one bad habit I have managed to lose.

sorry yes, forgot that I wanted to advice anybody to avoid zooming in too much and regenerate some models.

Our pc's completely lock up if some regenerate free form surfaces with too many defining points. It would be good if UG could estimate when it would be a problem and ask the user if they really want to wait ?

It can take ours :-(
