Can you point in a direction of someone to talk too or paper to read.
I have a residential structure with cmu walls that stop at 8’ high, no connection or bracing to roof, and vertical #4’s @ 24-30”oc. Adding horiz. bars seems extremely hard to do except at top of walls to install diagonal braces to roof.
These are shear walls of course with an Sds value of 1.371, and S1 of .856.
Maybe design as unreinforced and see if that works using equivalent solid thickness for wall.
Any thoughts on this ?
