Unable to create part

Hi,All

I'm repeatedly getting a problem when trying to creat a new part. I am using UG V18 (can't get the boss to upgrade yet) with Iman. When i go file-new it instantly comes up with the message "Unable to create part. The default part type which you have specified is not available". The only way out is to close UG with the task manager.

Any ideas VERY much appreciated

Never having worked with Iman, I am guessing that your template 'new part' file is missing.

Many thanks looslib. It certainly points to something along those lines. The problem is that although it is occuring regularly, it isn't every single time, making it hard to find the fault.

This may sound brutal but just reinstall the program. I had similar problems such as "can not save", etc... I used v18 up untill 6 months ago. That install has been on there a looong time I imagine!

A little tip: backup your user config files so you'll have all your settings there when you reload UG.
