In determining the thickness for a flat plate UG-34 has a constant 'C' for method of head to shell attachment.

We have a rectangular plate that is fully welded at its corners to four other plates that are perpindicular to the rectangular plate. (basically a box). what suggestions are there for the value of 'C' for the above description?

You should go to App.13 and thoroughly study it. For welded covers it specifies C=0.2

C=0.2 is right for this case. See Appendix 13, 13-4(f).
