Hi Folks!

Good day! I am designing a vessel in accordance with ASME Sec VIII Div. 1 and shell DEP 31.22.00.31 specification,

Vessel materials are following as below stated:

Shell / Head = SB-424 (Alloy 825) UNS N08825
Forging / Flanges = SB-564 (Alloy 825) UNS N08825

The maximum governing thickness of plate & weld is 10mm.

Vessel thickness is calculating quite less but due to nozzle qualification in WRC shell thickness require to increase and considered 10mm Nominal plate thickness.

As of now there is not any Impact test MDMT calculation are preforming in PV Elite and no impact test or PWHT warning or precautionary message shown in calculation.

My question is that i want do the assessment of Impact test & PWHT requirement as per Section VIII Div. 1 for above said material.

Can any body give an quick advice on this material, as it is an non ferrous material.

Does UCS-56 & UCS-66 apply to UNS N08825 material or not? if not then which assessment need to check for this material.

UCS-56 and -66 do not apply to alloy 825.

See Part UNF

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

825 is a high Ni stainless steel. It has an N UNS because at the time that it was numbered alloys with less than 50% Fe were not labled S even if Fe was the major element. Many of these grades have been moved into SS specs (AL-6XN and Alloy 20).
