U stamp vs ASME stamp 1

Hi all,
I have seen UHT pressure vessel built in 2004 has U stamp on data plate and we are constructing new UHT vessel with ASME stamp on data plate what is the deffrance between U and ASME stamp?

ASME B&PV Code in the 2013 edition has decided to use the ASME symbol as the certification mark followed by designator below the mark. The designator can be the U symbol or other symbols depending on the code of construction.
