U PVC Pipe Tolerances 2

I am investigating a case dating back to 2002. A number of 280mm outside diameter UPVC pipes where installed for water supply. The stamp on the outside of the pipe said DIN 19532.
I am finding it hard to get any information on this standard.
Is this DIN standard still in use?
What british standard could I use to check the specifications?
I need to measure the pipe to make sure that it was manufactured to the correct tolerances.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I noticed noone had yet responded to you inquiry. I am not familiar with the specific standard you are referring to, but I was just curious where exactly the "280 mm" you stated comes from (is this actually written on the pipe or a nominal O.D. dimension from a table you are looking at from this referenced standard, or is this one actual O.D. measurement as from a "pi" tape etc)?

[It is some interesting this dimension is only very slightly less than the 11.10 inch nominal outside diameter of nominal ten inch AWWA ductile iron or pvc pipe.]

I went to my IHS subscription and found out that DIN is a German Standard (DIN - Deutsches Institut Fur Normung E.V.). There does not seem to be a standard 19532, but that could just be that I'm not searching correctly.

Specifications for components and the
system ? Metric series

No DIN standards are referenced therein

Suggest you contact the manufacturer and seek a copy from them.

280mm is a common PVC-U size and refers to the OD. It is used with DN250 DI fittings.

I found the standard it states that the piping tolerance should be +0.6mm -0.00mm does this sound correct, I thought that the tolerance would allow both in the + and - dimensions i.e +0.6mm -0.6mm.

stanier, thanks for the education (incidentally, am also curious what is the standard for the specific "DN250 DI fittings" you are talking about, and the specific dimension/tolerance pvc to DI joining design you are referring to?)

Australian Standard AS 2280-2004 Ductile Iron pipe & Fittings. Dimensions are perhaps peculiar to this market downunder.

The PVC manufacturers (Vinidex and Iplex pipelines) here produce pipe to match the size of ductile iron. PVC-U, PVC-M and PVC-O are extruded.

There are quite a few standards that give tolerances in one direction only. The best bet would be to contact DIN.
