Can anyone tell me where I can get a range of typical air-fuel ratios for diesel engines?

something like "ideal air fuel ratio for a diesel"

Due to limitations of injection hardware and other thermo stuff 70:1 is bout the bottom most engines see. Theroetically af ratio can go infinitely lean if enough heat is available.
