I am having problem with the production manifold due to sand and high GOR from couple of oil wells, hooked up to the manifold. Can any one suggest the type of metallurgy suitable for fabrication of new manifold? The existing manifold is 300#, A-106 grade B, which has eroded. I was thinking of Duplex.

It depends on how much is corrosion and how much is erosion. If the corrosion side is significant then going to a duplex stainless should help a lot. The duplex will have better erosion resistance and the corrosion resistance will be so much higher that it is hard to compare.
You could look at a lean duplex alloy like 2304, LDX2101 or AL2003. They will cost less than 2205, but they are not as available. Mu guess is that you will use 2205 because you can get it.

Ed, Thanks for the response, I was also thinking of Cladded pipe. Which, one is more economical, have some idea?

Using the same material A-106 grade B for a provisory repair you can contact Belzona for rebuilding corrosion erosion damage for your application. In urgent repairs it works and can solve your problem.

Ed, Thanks for the recommendations, I will follow both the options and hope to forward a reasonable proposal to stake holders.

luismarques, The leak was repaired by welding a sleeve covering the hole. It is working fine but stakeholders would like it, to be replaced and with better meterial provided it is economical.

Anyone having experience in PTFE line pipe, how good is it against erosion?
