Two Members Frame-Stability

Hi All,

I got a question regarding the stability of the frame. Is the first case stable as shown in the attachment i.e. only shear transfer.

I don't know the meaning of the double pin, but if it is a single pin (which is a moment release), then it looks like a three hinged arch. What do you mean by " i.e. only shear transfer"? That is not correct. If the joint is pinned, there can be axial load transfer as well as shear transfer.

The pinned supports top and bottom are not exactly pinned supports. Members are pinned to a slab or wall which can deflect.
