toyota 4wd diesal crankshaft seal 1

I have a 1985 toyota 4wd diesal. the front crankshaft oil seal keeps failing. the alloy oil pump housing (which houses the seal) has a scratch that allows oil to pass between the seal and the seal housing. does anybody know of a substance maybe a resin or glue that I could seal the seal so that it could hold oil pressure? the alloy housing appears to have tiny cracks in the front (on the surface)
the engine is a 2.4D "2L" out of a Ln65 Hi -Lux

I've heard of people having luck with a good epoxy glue, mind you I would make sure that it's a good brand not an off the shelf domestic type. I remember reading in a service manual, Ford I think, a method to repair porosity in castings using epoxy.

I don't know if it can be bought through regular channels but I've heard good things about it and have used it to repair drill holes in a drill press table. It gets extremely hard, can be drilled tapped files etc.
Try your local Loctite supplier, they have all kinds of cures.
I would imagine getting rid of the oil residue would be the main concern, use a fast evaporating type.
