Dear fellow Pro Mechanica users

Everytime a part is loaded, a certain energy is stored in the part as elastic energy.

Can Pro Mechanica give us the answer, how much energy is stored?

Another issue: How do we interepret the strain energy display? The analysis results can be seen as strain energy (measured in joules), butfringes of colours are visible, meaning various areas have various enrgies... Whar is then this strain energy? IF the measurement would be done in j/m^3, it would make some sense to me! Enlighten me.

Looking forward for hints!

Hello Adrian,

Probably some one already answer this question. But here it is just in case. If you want to find the total strain energy in your model you must look at the predefine measure call "strain_energy" at the end of the run summary. This should give you the total strain energy in the model and should have units of energy in*lbf or Joules depending in the system of units you are using.
