It is easy to place an icon on a toolbar, by dragging and dropping, but ...
How can I remove an icon (that I don't use) from a toolbar?

Well, to add an icon, you drag it onto the toolbar and drop it. Have you tried dragging the unwanted icon off the toolbar and dropping it?

Keep in mind that you need to have the same "Customize" window open that you would have if you were adding an icon.

Thanks for the replies ...
What I did was go back into "customize" and drag the icons into there. In other words I went to the same place that I pulled icons from, and put them back.

You don't need to actually put them back into the Customize selection box, just dragging them outside of the toolbar does the job.
