Hi everyone. Hope you are all ok.

I have been trying to find someone who had experience corrosion in the TLE - Transfer Line Heat exchanger in pyrolisys furnace, in the water side. I have attached pictures to show. We have been facing it for several years anda have not been able to solve it. There are several issues like acid contamination, chemical cleaniang, etc.

I would be very greatful if someone have some thoutghs to share.

The tube is carbon steel and we have been thinking of a metallurgical change.

Regards

Looks like the same deposit that could be found inside some furnace boilers.
There is no easy solution.
First would be to confirm the nature of this deposit, then identify the way it forms. Only then you can start thinking of solutions.

@BenMacier, have you ever seen something like that?
