Tilt-up Panel with shear plates

What is the behavior of tilt wall panels that need to be stitched together for overturning? I.e. what forces should I design the shear plates for? How does shear flow thru the panels? Do you guys have any examples or design guides for these connections?

I've never designed a tilt panel wall in my life. So take my comments with that in mind....

That said I would GUESS that it would be unwise to expect much resistance from overturning from shear plates connecting parallel panels. To stop overturning of parallel panels I'd be looking for perpendicular support in terms of roof members, perpendicular panels, or wall ties running the length of the wall.
 
There's a great example of this in the PCI manual, and you can typically get out of date editions for a couple bucks on ebay.
Unfortunately it's been a couple years since i`ve been through the process so my summary wouldn't be too trustworthy.

I don't understand how the wall panels were tied together, horizontally to each other, or vertically to the support frames above and below? Need clarification here.
 
At it's core, it's simply a statical decomposition as follows:

1) Imagine all the walls acting together to form a single shear wall.

2) Decompose the wall into its fabricated components and do a statical analysis of each to keep it in equilibrium.

3) Design the stitch plates to transfer the resulting vertical shear at various locations in the wall.

It can be a bit more complicated than that depending on the assumptions made but that's the gist of it.

I believe that this is the PCI manual example suggested by Once2036.

The book Koot took found that at is the CPCI manual. It is free if you want to sign up: Link The CPCI is a very close copy of the PCI, but in SI units.

If your panel groups are complicated with many openings, and you have access to an FEA tool you might consider modelling the panels with the design gaps between. To represent the connections use a short link between and adjust the releases as needed to reflect your connections.
