I have an insulated tilt-up panel with openings for doors/windows. It is my understanding for insulated panels that the insulation extends to the edges of the panel due to thermal issues. When I have an opening, how is the outer 2.75" of "non-structural" concrete (and insulation) supported above the opening? Do you just rely on the window door to support this portion? Seems the only connection between the inner structural panel and the exterior non-structural panel are the inserts installed during the panel pour and would not do much for gravity resistance once the panel was erected. Thoughts on the detail at the header?
Thank you and have a great day.
