OK all you TIGgers,

I bought the Dynasty 200DX (merry x-mas to me). I have a Weldcraft WP17 TIG torch (air-cooled). My aluminum welding will mostly be sheetmetal and round tubing (maybe 2" Sch40). Someone said I wouldn't be happy with the WP17 when welding aluminum. Any takers on this one?? This is where I come when I want sound unopinionated commentary.

Another thing, I need to procure a foot control to round out my new toy. Anybody have experience with the SSC C810-1425 foot control?? It's on e-bay for $149.00 plust $7.00 shipping. Seems like a good price if it's not garbage.

Thanks in advance!!

The WP17 is a 150 amp torch. It will do for short welding periods on the aluminum tubing you noted. I agree that you will want to step up to a water cooled torch for the aluminum welding.

I have a WP17 hooked up to my peewee inverter which usually runs at 80 amps (DC-) or so and it gets warm even at these low amperages. If you plan to use your Dynasty for any length of time, I highly recommend stepping up to the water cooled WP20 or equivalent.
