Is this a "brick" type unit? I used 1 once, and swore I'd never do it again. I can't recall what TI called it.
You might try Siemans in Johnson City Tenn or GE, I think they called it the Series 1 Jr. They both marketed it for a while. As for as I know only TISoft will talk to it.
It is incredibly slow. I went through hell the 1st time I used it. It didn't seem like it was connecting. I changed cables, checked cable, reboot PC, did it all. Finally called for support.
Guy called back & asked my problem. I told him. I remember what he said, " You drink coffee?", "yes", "You smoke?", "Yes". "Well, it's communicating, it just takes awhile. Tell it to connect, go have a couple cups of coffee and a smoke or two. When you come back, it'll be connected".
He also said I'd have to do the same routine for every change I make. And forget about any kind of status monitoring.
If memory serves me, that unit was designed as a parallel input for use with a hand-held programmer. When trying to use PC software, the serial data from the PC goes into the com unit, where it gets converted to parallel, then loaded. Unfortunately, nothing happens until the entire program is converted. The same takes place in reverse. And takes *forever*
If it's a the brick I'm thinking of, I'd get rid of it.
