I need to make a threaded hole through the length of a cylinder

Cylinder diameter 50mm
Cylinder length 40mm
Threaded hole 1.250-18 (through all)
Am I correct that 1.250 is the diameter , and that 18 is the pitch ?
I have never worked with inch before, so how do I select this 1.250-18 thread ?
The hole wizard?
Thanks,

It is called out as "1.25-18 UNEF". It is an extra fine thread. If you don't see it in the hole wizard, it will have to be created and added.
