Thoriated electrode versus lanthanated electrode

Does a change from Thoriated Tungsten Electrode to Lanthanated Tungsten Electrode require requalification of WPS?

Per ASME IX QW-256, it is a non-essential variable, so no.

If ASME IX is the code in question, then Mr168 is correct. AWS D1.1 has me scratching my head??? I believe they need to separate filler metal and electrode. I don't think it should be an essential in D1.1 either, but that's just me.
