What type of suspension system would you recomend for a small urban vehicle powered by an electrical engine?Could you give me some tips about the places(on line publications, sientific articles etc) where I could find some information about the suspension design, analysis?

How fast? what sort of comfort level? what sort of handling?

Are the motors in the wheels or mounted to the body?

Best bet is to look at similar vehicles, but assuming 30 mph, reasonable comfort, you'll need about 2 inches of wheel travel into jounce, 3 inches into rebound, possibly more if the wheels are small.

Of course if it is a very low cost, very low speed car, no suspension, but big baggy very soft tyres.

What do they use on golf carts.

You could also consider designing in compliance into the chassis itself. That in conjunction with tire compliance may be adequate.

Greg, why the extra inch in rebound? potholes?

it's just good practice for road cars. Don't really know why!
