Hi Everyone,

I recently got a $3000+ water bill from Sydney Water which made me really sad. However, that was not the worst thing – I hired a Leak Detector to detect the leak (cost $400) and then hired a plumber to replace the pipeline (cost $1600) – guess what happened? The leak remained!

I believe that the Leak Detector made a mistake which wasted me $1600 to replace some pipeline which was actually in good condition. Is there anything I can do to recover the financial loss from the leak detector?

Thanks in advance

This is engineering. Legal advice is a different website.

Have you found the leak?

I have learned that the leak detection of the home plumbing couldn't be perfectly accurate. And, I don't think there is a guarantee for the leak detection work.
I had an underground hot water pipe leak, but the leak detection had performed two times and could not locate the leaking spot. Then, I had the Contractor to open the the drywall at several locations and reroute the hot water pipe to aboveground.
