TEXT ON SCREEN

Is there any way to hide the text that shows on screen when you do for example simplified reps? I am doing presentation slides and would like this text to not be on the screen...why they located it there i do no know why!!

Go to the View pull-down menu and select shade. This works in 2001, I don't know know about other versions.
