When using Dimension leader and annotaing text...as soon as I press the space bar the text jumps to the next line. This occurs each time the space bar is hit.
Going into the Mtext Editor, it shows the text typed in "single characters" down the dialogue box. Hope this makes sense. Any help is appreciated.

Check the width setting in Mtext properties.

mtext width when left at (0)...the annotation works fine. i.e. typing goes across in 1 line. When I change the width to 2,5,20 etc., that is when the problem arises. Thanks for the response. more help?

It seems to me that not enough width is being provided and the text skips to the next line down. Have you considered scale factor in setting width? I don't know what else to consider. Maybe someone else has some ideas?

Yes...considered the scale factor...this undoubtedly one of those "stupid" things...I just can't seem to put my finger on it. Looked at it enough times...think I'm going crazy.

I would have to guess that is is the width of the mtext entity as well. Select the mtext and you should have 4 grips, one at each corner. Select one and stretch it over to get the width to something more reasonable. I don't know what kind of units you are using, but you say it doesn't work right when you set the width to 2, 5, 20 etc
If you are in model space and using inches as you unit, then the 2 is going to be 2 inches. Depending on what scale your plan is, that could be a very small width.

The reason it is jumping to the next line when you hit the space bar is because it will let you finish the current word on one line, but there isnt enough room for the next word on the same line, because of the width.

Hopefully this makes sense and helps!
