Tension in Timer belts

Hi Freinds,
In timer belt drives,if we give centre distance exactly,
is it necessary to consider the arrangement for belt tension.

Recommended for you

Think about how you will install the timing belt. Also, what happens if the belt is made a little long, or a little short, or stretches, or thermally expands/contracts. A loose timing belt will wear faster, and can slip.
 
I think the answer to this question will vary from belt to belt. I know that polymide flat belts are often used in fixed center applications using split pulleys for assembly. Better check with the mfg.
