Does anybody know the time and temp profile for stress relieving brass under ASTM HR50?
 
What is the brass alloy that needs to be stress-relieved? Product form (sheet, forging, tube, etc.)? Also, why are you using the HR scale? This is usually used for soft, thin bearing material.
 
I'm using C26000 tubing, 1" x .065 and 1.625" x .065

I'm not sure that the HR scale is right. Basically, I just need to relieve the stresses from the as-drawn tubing due to stress corrosion cracking.

I've been hearing various temp/time profiles but was hoping to find a spec of some sort to which I could refer. I'm also trying to validate the numbers I'm hearing (which range from 500F for 1 hr to 600F for 10 min with no mention of cooling rates in either case).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
ASM HANDBOOK Volume 4 Heat Treating lists 320 C for 20 minutes as a typical stress relief cycle. There is no requirement for cooling rate. Castings are generally quenched or cooled using forced-air, but wrought alloys are not.
