Hi,

I am interviewing for a position at an energy plant and as of right now I am reviewing my old thermodynamics book. I was wondering if anyone can suggest any thermodynamic related technical questions or related to the overall mechanical engineering field. Any assitance would be much appreciated. Thank you

how much is 2 + 2?

An account will say 4, always has been 4 always will be 4.
An Engineer will say, somewhere between 3.8 and 4.2.
An MBA will say, what do you want it to be?

Open your domestic refrigerator's door and let it work in closed perfect insulated room.
The temp. in the room will:
A: Get colder.
B: Get wormer.
C: Remain unchanged.

wormer?

What do you keep in your fridge and for how long?

- Steve

I´d say always wormer no matter the timeframe

Okay than, here's another option just to make it a little more confused:

Open your domestic refrigerator's door and let it work in closed perfect insulated room.
The temp. in the room will:
A: Get colder.
B: Get wormer.
C: Remain unchanged.
D: Depends on initial experiment room temp.

Hmm, I thought I'd heard all the ameringlish words. Please don't tell me wormer is another one (like plow).

I recall a question that required looking up some values in the steam tables. Of course the temperature/pressure requested wasn't there, so I said I would interpolate the value.

The response was, show me.

My response, um, OK. So, I made a little table and constructed the appropriate ratios, and came up with the equation.

The response was, hey that's neat, I've never seen it done that way.

I guess everyone can learn something at an interview.
