Hi there!

I want to apply a symmetry boundary condition on a circular edge. The shell part (see image), is a slice of a disk. I then trimmed the part at its origin, resulting in this short circular edge on which I want to have a symmetry boundary condition (to account for the missing part of the disk at the origin).

I defined a cylindrical CSYS (see image), and then used an XSYMM (because the radial direction correspond to the first direction from what I know) boundary condition using this cylindrical CSYS (and with a set of the circular edge). It doesn't seem to work. Hence, how should I apply this symmetry BC on my part?

Thank you very much for your help!

Select the Displacement/Rotation type of BC, switch to local CSYS and select U1. It should work.

Thanks FEA way, it worked out perfectly!
