Surveying Smoothness of Concrete Floors 1

Does anyone know of a software system that will show graphically smoothness of a concrete floor and any surveying methods used to achieve this?

We need to show compliance (or otherwise) of concrete floors for assessment and record.

There is a complete system used to document the quality (flatness & levelness) of concrete floors. It is called "The Face Floor Profile Numbering System (“F-Numbers”)"

We started using this system on electric power plant construction projects in the early 1990's. The results of the measurements are both objective and repeatable - ideal for enforcement of contract specifications. Specialized equipment is used to make the necessary measurements.

Another comment - you will see and probably hear that the F-number system is used for "Superflat Floors", and that superflat floor are a "waste of money" for many applications...
The F-number system can be used for ANY concrete surface, even those with the most basic finish.

We established our contract criteria by going to existing power plants and make the necessary measurements on various concrete floors that were satisfactory. This information,, the required F-number, was then put into new contracts as part of the technical specifications.

The numbers are used for all floor types. General and ramdom traffic floors. The higher the numbers the more flat and more level the floor is. Ramdom traffic floors do not need "Superflat" numbers.
