Surface Roughness - Ra & Rt relation 1

Hi,

For sinusoidal wave like surface how can i establish the relation between Ra and Rt (or Rp-v) as Ra = pi Rt ? Please help.
 
I don't think there is a relationship between Ra and Rt. I don't find any reason which says Ra can be greater than Rt.

 
Hi, it should be Rt = pi Ra. Sorry about that...
