I Have a WPS that is qualified up to 8" but the hardness limit is slightly above client requirement. Would a retest on a 1/2" coupon for hardness testing allow me to maintain my upper limit of 8" when if I combine the PQRs in accordance with QW200.4?

PWHT is required?

Regards

Yes PWHT is required

You should take hardness before and after PWHT.
There may be something wrong with the PWHT.
You've done it?

Regards

PWHT is fine hardness readings are well within MRO175, MR0103, and SP0472, but client specs are restrictive.

You can increase the PWHT temperature slightly on your supplementary test coupon to accommodate your customer’s hardness requirements; as long as you stay below the lower transformation temperature. This is per ASME Section IX.

The devil is in the details; she also wears prada.

I suggest increase the holding time and slower cooling rate of PWHT.

Regards
