Hi everyone, I'm currently analzing a model for a stent in Ni-Ti. I'm running crimping and deployment simulation on Abaqus\Explicitit, quasistatic case (ALLKE/ALLIE< 0.1) . For the crimping part, I've run the simulation on Abaqus\Standard and the comparison between implicit and explicit method are the following:
1) Stress quantities (I've cheked Von Mises and Maximum principal stresses) are equal in both cases;
2) The strain quantities differ: in fact with the deformation I've obtained, there is no transformation from austenite to martensite.
3) Given what said in 2), also MVF is null in every part of the volume.
For the explicit simulation, I've imposed a time period equal to 0.05 (for both the steps) and mass scaling set in order to have a targeted time interval of 1e-8 throughout the step.
Has someone had the my some problem?

Check all the energies, this is crucial in Abaqus/Explicit and often helps find hidden issues. Especially when mass scaling is involved.

Are there any differences between those two models apart from the step type ?
