Dear all,
I'd like to get your kind advice about the installation of suction heaters vs heat tracing in the following case:
It is a 24000 m3 LDO tank, whose pour point is -9ºC and it must get to the transfer pumps at a minimum temperature of 10ºC. The minimum ambient design temperature is -7ºC.
I am wondering how to choose the most correct configuration among the following ones:
* Heat tracing in the tank to keep tanks contents at a temperature higher than the pour point plus a margin (for example -4ºC) and heat it up from -4ºC to 10ºC with a suction heater.
* To use the heat tracing to keep the tanks contents at 10ºC.
* Not to install heat tracing and use a suction heater to heat the fluid up to 10ºC only with the suction heater.
