Structural design of steel/metal structures 7

Can anybody out there recommend a good book that goes through the whole process of structural design of steel structures (constructions) right from the load gethering stage to the end? The design should be based on the EU Standards/Codes.

There is a good book called Structural Steelwork:Analysis and Design by S S Ray. It does a step by step design approach for a number of different types of design.

The book is a few years old and works in accordance with British Standard BS5950:1990. I have not seen anything similar for Eurocode 3 yet.

It's a little dated, but "Designing Steel Structures" by Cooper with Chen is a good text.

The Steel Designers Manual is an excellent resource for steelwork design in accordance with BS 5950:2000.

In addition, the BCSA also publish two volumes of worked examples to BS5950:2000. (they are companion publications to the 'Blue Book').

I am not aware of any publications dealing with Eurocodes yet - they are not current here in the UK, and I believe that a lot of the EU countries have yet to publish their National Annexes for the Eurocodes.
