Hi

I'm having this warning message of Samcef:

"THE STIFFNESS IS BADLY CONDITIONED"

What's the problem?

Has anything to do with the relative size of the elements ?

thanks

check your boundary conditions. You might have rigid body movements.

Ill conditioning does refer to the relative element stiffness in the stiffness matrix. This means that your solution will not be accurate, if you obtain one at all. Check your element sizes or material properties to make sure that there are no numerical problems.

The last time I hit this sort of problem, it was a relatively stiff structure supported on a bed of relatively soft linear springs.
