Hello Everybody,
I have a question regarding sticking and sliding contact in NX Nastran.
I have modeled a preloaded bolted connection between two flanges in SOL101 using BSURF contact regions.
If the external shear force exceed the friction force (given by the bolt preload times the friction coefficient) and slip occur, there is any sense in the results given by Nastran?
I’ve noticed that increasing the values of the penalty factors PENN (up to 1e6) and PENT (up to 1e4) the sliding displacements changes a lot and are similar to the same problem solved with Nonlinear analysis and CGAP elements for the contact. Are these values of PENN and PENT acceptable?
Thank you.
