could anyone assisst. i need practical information on all the different tie types. and the contruction of stairs ,walls ,columns, column bases,slabs,beams,etc any help would be appreciated,whether website,book,disc orvideo.thanks
Your local structural engineer. That is too much to learn well in a small time frame. I took 5 years in the University and 35 years working and still don't know enough about everything you mentioned.
To start you on your educational path try these too:
1. The American Concrete Institute (ACI) has a publication called "Formwork" by Mary Hurd that covers formwork design, construction and accessories.
2. Contact Symons Corp., they have a variety of form systems and ties. They may also have videos that demonstrate use of their systems.
3. Try contacting some of the concrete contractors in your area. Most contractors have a "pet" forming system that they perfer to use and would be willing to describe it to you and show you the hardware for it.
