Steel profiles/shapes for low temperature service

Hello everyone;

I have found tonnes of references regarding low-temperature materials for pressure vessels, pipes, fittings and so on, but couldn't find out a standard/code for steel shapes. I have got a structure mainly composed of L-beams and I-beams that is to be built under -30 degrees Celcius. I'd be grateful if someone at least give an idea about material selection.
 
The steel shapes you refer to can be purchased for various grades of steel suitable for low temperature service - as you stated in your post. Once you decide on a specific material, put a specification together and check various sources for availability of steel shapes.
 
Could you have any idea regarding toughness specifications (in Joules) of carbon steels for low-temperature service?
 
Yes, for structural applications, the typical values I have seen are 20 J @ 4 deg C for A 36, for A 572 material - 20 J at 4 deg C, and for A 514 plate steels (up to 2.5") - 34 J at -18 deg C. The notch toughness values are for service temperatures at or above -34 deg C.

I was attempting to use hyphens (spaced away from the number) versus the negative sign. Sorry about the confusion.
