Good Morning all
Can you provide me your expert advice on the steel truss options

Option-1 29m cantilver truss anchored to a stiff core (marked in pink and supports 7 floors of hospital above
and the truss is 6m high Vierendeel truss and occupies 2 floor heights and trusses are spaced at 9.60m and hence the upstand trusses intrudes into the rooms and rooms

option-2
proposed by Architect with double height trusses only at edge and downstand steel beams at transfer level inorder to avoid intrusion into room

your expert thoughts and any other inclusions or feasible framing please

Have a fabulous day all

Before we potentially waste effort on this again, have you done calculations to demonstrate the feasibility of both these schemes? What did these tell you regarding the feasibility of both schemes, do you think you can get it to work??

Didn’t we do this last week on a 50m cantilever??

A 30m cantilever with no backspan? I think you need to have a serious word with the architect as this is all very concerning.

I don't think this thread can go anywhere productive.

I think that we could do a lot more here if we had:

a) A full floor plan of the building and;

b) Some elevations showing us the general massing of the thing.

It's hard to imagine that this entire building is just cantilevered of the side of a giant elevator shaft.

What drives the desire for the cantilever here? Are we building over top of an existing building or something?

if the enquirer was serious , he/she would have at least posted a scaled sketch.
