Hello,
Im designing a steel construction for cars.
Columns are anchored to the ground RC slab that is 250 mm thick.
Since I get large pullout forces in end columns (image bellow) im wondering should I made RC beam at the edge of a slab.
Reason for this is to get a larger self weight of RC slab where pullout forces are large (30 kN) and another reason for an edge beam is to be able to use longer anchors depths.
Collumn supports are modeled as pinned, connection between the column and beam is a moment connection.
What do you suggest?
thanks for help
